what a blast

We took in a game in Santiago, the Aguilas playing Licey. The weather was perfect, and the experience as unmatched by any sporting event that I have ever attended. It was simply amazing. Every at bats, every pitch was like a world series game, bottom of the 9th 2 outs with an 0-2 count for the win. That was EVERY at bats. The noise level can only be compared to a NYC subway car with its horn blowing non stop for 3 hours. Everyone has really loud horns and those inflatable sticks that you clap together. And the fans interacting was great, the "in your face" my team rules over yours consisted of constant torment and dancing when your team was making a play, in the friendliest, no hard feelings way possible.

Hmmm. Any sign of Manny? :)
ReplyDeleteNo Manny to be found. One of the relief pitchers for Licey was hurling 97-98Mph fastballs, but not really over the plate, walked a bunch. Ear plugs for me next time. :)
ReplyDeleteThat sound is like that political rally we rode through!
ReplyDeleteNo doubt. The intensity level was full scale deflection the entire game. Thanks for the reminder, I so miss riding through the political rallies. A new dynamic has also evolved when we stop someplace, calls are made and people show up to see the "big bikes" and to have their pictures taken while sitting on them. Rock stars we are.
ReplyDeletePeace.
